Bidrage med feedbackAt first glance, this restaurant may not seem impressive, but it has quickly become our go-to spot for Indian cuisine. While the menu may not be extensive, the flavors are authentically Indian and maintain a high level of quality, even in a western setting. The spiciness, freshness, and overall taste of the dishes are excellent. The owner is friendly and attentive, making sure to take orders and serve customers personally. If you're craving authentic Indian dishes, this is definitely worth a try.
I dined at the restaurant on February 14th. The restaurant was approximately 40% full and had nice, clean decor. We started with Samosa Onion Fritters, which were okay and not too greasy. However, I would caution that the Samosas were very spicy. They provided only one sauce, which was also spicy. For our main dishes, we ordered Butter Chicken, Malabar Prawn Curry, naan bread, rice, and raita. The food was decent and the service was okay and fairly prompt. However, the portion sizes for the main dishes were on the smaller side. Additionally, it is important to be specific when ordering items like bread and rice. We had assumed that since there were two of us, they would bring enough rice and bread for two people, but they only served a portion for one. The prices were average for an Indian restaurant, at around $14-15 per main dish. Overall, I wouldn't call this restaurant my new favorite, but it was an average to fair experience.
I gave this restaurant one star, but if I could give less, I would. I ordered takeout from Indus three times on a Saturday night, and each time was a disappointment. The last time will truly be the last, and here's why. Every time I went to pick up my order, the restaurant was empty, which should have been a warning sign. The first two experiences were mediocre at best, and I only returned out of convenience. When I called to place my order, the phone was always broken and they could never hear me properly. Despite knowing about this issue, they never fixed it. On one occasion, they even called me back on a mobile phone. However, on my last visit, they did not. I specifically requested enough rice for five people three times, and each time they confirmed. I placed my order at 7:15pm and was told it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. When I arrived 25 minutes later, I was asked to wait despite the empty restaurant. I paid the bill and waited until 7:58pm for my order, only to find that there was no rice. I had to send the order back to the kitchen to get it, which took another eight minutes. To my surprise, I was then charged $15 for the rice. When I raised my concerns about the poor service and the additional charge, the staff did not seem to understand. I asked to speak to the manager, who was not present, so I spoke to someone else instead. He offered a refund for the rice, but it was too late to make up for the bad experience. As for the food, it was not your typical Indian cuisine and lacked the traditional favorites. The meat was of poor quality, with gristle and bones left in, and was not cooked properly. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I will not be returning to this restaurant again.
Dined in on the 14th Feb. The restaurant was about 40% full and has nice clean decor. We ordered Samosa & Onion Fritters for starters which were ok and not too oily. However, be careful with the Samosas as they are very spicy. They also only supplied one sauce, which was also spicy. For mains we had Butter Chicken, Malabar Prawn Curry, naan bread, rice & raitha. All the food was fine and service was ok and fairly fast. However, beware that the mains serving sizes are fairly small. Also you need to be specific when ordering things like bread and rice. We assumed, because there were 2 of us, that they'd bring enough rice & bread for 2 people, but they just brought out a 'single' serve of rice and one naan bread. Prices were average Indian prices at around $14-15 per main. I wouldn't make this restaurant my new 'favourite', but they were average to fair...
When you see this place seems like you wont expect something "wow". Oh boy, this place has become our favourite Spot for Indian Cuisine. Variety of food is not very extensive. However, they maintain how Indian cuisine should taste like even though you are at some western countries. The spiciness, freshness, and quality of cuisines they serve are absolutely fantastic. The owner is very friendly and humble. He takes order and serves his customers as well. Try this place if you ever crave some authentic Indian Cuisines.
