Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant offers authentic medieval cuisine that harmonizes wonderfully with the overall ambiance.
The innkeeper and his wife are both remarkable and passionate individuals who do an excellent job of maintaining the medieval theme throughout the day and during meal service. The food was incredibly delicious and presented in a unique way, served on platters and 'trenchers'—which are plate-sized pieces of bread that double as edible plates. They offer a variety of dishes, including chicken, lamb, salmon, and pork. The entertainment matched the medieval theme perfectly. The innkeeper came around with a lute, singing and playing for us. Being the only guests that evening meant we received a lot of personal attention, which was a lovely bonus. I can imagine that having a larger crowd would enhance the ambiance and lively atmosphere of a bustling inn. It's interesting to note that all the pottery and crockery used are handmade by the potter in Camlann Village. The pewter tableware isn’t locally made, but they have a creative way of explaining that! This experience isn't inexpensive; it's cash or check only, with no card payments accepted. It worked out to about $43-$44 per person if you order one drink, a dessert, and a meal. We also took a tour of the village beforehand, which costs $10 per adult. Despite the price, I believe it is definitely worth experiencing at least once. They also host festivals for medieval holidays. I encourage anyone interested to check their website in advance for event details. Overall, I would love to return when there are more diners to fully enjoy the lively atmosphere!
I wasn't a fan of the desserts, but I'm quite particular about my food. The gentleman at the entrance, who acts as the Inn Keeper, plays the lute and sings. He isn’t a professional, but his performance added to the ambiance. Overall, the experience was delightful, though I think it would have felt more lively with more patrons in the restaurant. Our group was the only one there, and I missed the background chatter that could have enhanced the atmosphere. Regarding the cost, I found the meal somewhat pricey; you're really paying for the unique experience and ambiance. Expect to spend about $45 per person, which includes one drink and one dessert each. I also wrote a review for the village, and I'll admit I borrowed a bit from my comments about the restaurant here for efficiency! Haha.
The food was good, and the overall experience was entertaining. It was a little odd being the only ones there, but our host was great. Recommend bringing a larger group, but don't be afraid to come with two or three :
The most wonderful experience of walking back in time! Everyone should try this place! Pick up the phone and make those reservations right now you will not regret it!
