Tuck Box - Carmel-by-the-Sea

Definitely a cute little breakfast spot! Makes you feel as if you are in a beautiful story book. The down side which I hope is only for a while is that they only take cash. We wanted to leave a nice tip since the staff were all absolutely amazing and friendly but since it was getting rush time couldn’t get anyone to break a 50 . We definitely will be back again , with cash but hoping by then they accept card. Food was great and obviously the location is even better !

What a cute Fairy Tale restaurant! Breakfast was yummy out on their patio. Cash only. Great service! Ask for the Fairy Tale book about the history of the buildings and other locations.

As locals, we finally decided to try this charming restaurant, and we found it to be quite adorable with a cozy atmosphere. When we visited on a Monday morning for breakfast, there seemed to be only one server working, but the place was not busy at all. I ordered the Tuck **** Mary and the Tuck Benedict. The **** was flavorful and a good size, while the Tuck Benedict was a bit bland, though it did come in a generous portion. Overall, breakfast was good but not exceptional. If the potatoes had a bit more seasoning, I would have been completely satisfied with my meal. It's a lovely little spot for tourists!

We had a wonderful breakfast experience here as a family. We sat right in the window nook by the front entrance. Our kids loved it. The food and service were great. When we first got our food, the poach eggs and their hollandaise sauce, both my wife and I thought the portion was small but no, we were filled once we finished the food. I think it’s the richness of the sauce. Delicious.

I strongly recommend Tuck Box for breakfast or brunch if you’re in the area for a few days. This establishment has a rich history, having been built nearly 100 years ago! The interior is wonderfully cozy, and the food is delicious. Their scones are the best I’ve ever had! Although the portions are slightly smaller, the overall experience and those scones definitely make it worthwhile.
