Sushi Heaven - Carmel-by-the-Sea

This restaurant is a rare jewel! I travel with work and this is one of my favorite places to visit when in town. The owner and staff are wonderful and attentive. The food is fresh, healthy and exquisite! I lived at English bay in Vancouver bc years ago walking distance to some of the best sushi. This reminds me of my Vancouver BC home! Do not hesitate to go here and enjoy exceptional food experience. Bravo Sushi Heaven!!!!Vegetarian options: Fresh fresh fresh!!! So healthy!!

Delicious sushi! Happy with our choice to eat here. All the photos on the wall tell me it’s a beloved place, too.

Ouugh.... This is a rough one. On the positive hand, the ambience of this place is homey and comfortable- servers are kind and the tea is good... On the negative however is extremely pathetic sushi made without love and sold for an insane mark up. Pricing at a glance seems normal for any upstanding sushi place but the portions you recieve are half that of any sushi place I can think of in the area. I guess it's to be expected of carmel.. catering to tourist leaves less than to be desired, but I put my faith in the other glowing reviews and my own memories of this place when I was younger. 130+ worth of food wasn't enough to satisfy two adults and two kids, the fish was dry and ....well. fishy. the powder Wasabi had no spice to it and tasted almost moldy ... just weird. Don't make my mistake, go elsewhere.

The food was amazing, the beat sushi I’ve ever had!!! 100% recommended and will come back!!!

Sushi was fresh. Service was good. The overall eating experience is a 4.4.
