The Boars Head - Carmarthenshire

My family and I, around 20 of us, went to this restaurant for a Christmas meal. Most of us opted for the carvery, while a few chose dishes from the menu. I was pleased with the spacious table where most of us could sit together. The majority of our group had only good things to say about the food. I would definitely make a reservation again, but earlier next time to ensure all of us can be seated together in the same room for future Christmas gatherings. The food was top-notch and served hot. As a vegetarian, I was satisfied with the options available.

The food at this restaurant is delicious. Our group all enjoyed the carvery, with some of us also indulging in desserts. We were a team of 12 having a Christmas dinner together, and we had booked well in advance. Unfortunately, the service we received from one of the waitresses was terrible. There were three waitresses in total serving us, and the younger two were polite and efficient. However, the older waitress, who I believe was named Diane or Dionne, was extremely rude and incompetent. She refused to let us order drinks at the bar, made us wait for half an hour to be served, and then cleared our dinner plates in a very unprofessional manner. She even overcharged us when it came time to pay, showing no manners or customer service skills. This member of staff truly let down the restaurant, and I would recommend giving her some lessons in how to properly treat customers. Despite this disappointing experience, the food was excellent.

I quickly checked in and was shown to my room. The room was lovely and clean, with plenty of coffee and tea available. The bed was super comfortable. Although the walk up the stairs to room 25 was a bit challenging for me, the amazing bath made it worth it. The bath was super deep and was a fantastic way to relax after a busy work day. Breakfast was well organised and delicious. The room was quite warm, but I was able to adjust the thermostat on the landing to make it more bearable for the night. The customer service was excellent and the staff were lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Food cold, asked to have it popped in micro...met with a grunt. Waitress said she would ASK chef. Came back, slightly warmer, such a shame as it was tasty, but not hot enough. No tip, and we are usually BIG tippers.

Fab went to Carmathen for a shopping trip with friends we arrived early at the hotel and asked if we could leave our cases etc' Cheryl couldn't of been more accommodating or friendly, lovely and friendly. We checked in a few hours later our rooms were lovely, clean and spacious. The bar was really warm and cozy with a lovely atmosphere, fab live duo on. Breakfast was lovely and fresh served by Cheryl who again was very bubbly and friendly. Overall a lovely stay will definitely be going back, excellent value for money
