Bidrage med feedbackGreat wines! Loved this place and the wines were fantastic! If you are close stop by and even if you aren’t, worth driving to.
We met Ryan on our first day in Carlton. The initial experience was so welcoming!! We felt like regulars pretty quickly. The wine was so very good! Not one of the wines did we NOT like!! This meant to us initially that we weren't walking away without spending some good ...with that said EVERY wine was smooth and tasty and honestly were reasonably priced. Here's the catch this family owned winery means you're meeting a place that cares more than about the but also about the person/couple etc behind it It didn't take long for us to learn about his cute pup Lando and exchange puppy stories. The wine is reasonably priced with a touch of family. We became wine members not ONLY because we immediately felt like family at the tasting room but because NOT A SINGLE wine disappointed. Each one was unique and flavorful and had a good nose followed by a good full body and smooth finish. (Overally that describes MOST of the wine) HIGHLY recommend!
We stopped in here after having at Horse Radish. They are next door to each other and the restaurant focuses on their wine. Glad we stopped in. The tasting fee is $20.00 per person, waived with a two bottle purchase. This is very reasonable. We bought wine. They do a very nice Rose of Pinot Noir. Lovely pale red color. Good acid on the palette. Nice fruit. I can imagine several foods this will accompany. Yes, it is also good for sipping, if you are so inclined. We bought a couple of bottles of the rose. They also do a nice Sauvignon Blanc. This a new release. It has nice acid. Add a good cheese and relax. We tasted two Pinots, the Ryan Davis, which we bought, and a caves selection. The latter is fermented in a large barrel. Nice flavor that I think will mellow out in a year. We bought the Ryan Davis. It has nice flavor and an excellent fruit and acid balance. It is ready to drink now, which is why we picked it. They do a nice Syrah that was not as full bodied as I would like. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is very tannic and too jammy for my taste. However, if you like something a bit bigger, this is a very good choice. In short, if you enjoy tannins, buy this and smile. The prices feel fair. The service was good and the pace at which the wines came out was just right. By the way, we shared tastings and their was enough in each glass for us to taste and get a sense of the wine. This was a very nice stop. Please drop in to see them. There are good people running this winery.
An amazing experience a great hospitality. Ryan always makes the experience for my wife and our guests enjoyable. I truly hate to tell you about this hidden gem but these guy's deserve the recognition. Hands down my favorite place to hangout and enjoy the sports on TV at the tasting room.
Stopped by to pick up our spring releases today and got to taste them, along with a few extras. The rose' is clear and crisp, pinots one more delicious than the next. And the syrah is the kind of serious red wine one dreams about. Ryan, host of the tasting room, is welcoming, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. We belong to one wine club and this is it. Couldn't be more satisfied with our choice.
