The Dukes Head - Carlisle

Tom and his staff went above and beyond to ensure that our two-night stay was perfect. Thank you. The small double room, Room 6, was very clean with a rail for hanging clothes and a nice bathroom. The breakfast was delicious - I had a full English and my wife had the vegetarian version, which she enjoyed. The service, location, and hotel highlights were all rated a 5. The quiet atmosphere was a standout feature of the hotel.

We made a reservation for a Sunday roast with our family at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we found the roast to be expensive and not very good. The beef was dry and we were disappointed with the quality. We mentioned our concerns to the staff, but they did not seem happy about it. It's a shame because the pub had a nice ambiance, but there were not many people there for a roast. Service was rated 3 out of 5 and the location was rated 5 out of 5.

Distinctly average experience, nothing wrong thank you but nothing to remember it for. The staff were friendly and helpful and the meals as described but nothing made me wish to return. Service: 4 Location: 3

I absolutely loved this restaurant! The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city. The atmosphere was very romantic and cozy, perfect for a date night. It was also surprisingly quiet, which made for a really relaxing dining experience. The best part was that it was kid-friendly too, so I can definitely see myself coming back with my family. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal in a lovely setting.
