Border Gate Beefeater - Carlisle

I had fish and chips with peas, and it was wonderful! The service was excellent, and the restaurant was very clean. I dined in for lunch, and the price per person was between £10 and £20. Overall, I would rate the food and service a perfect 5 out of 5. The atmosphere was decent, scoring a 3. I recommend trying the beer-battered fish and chips. There is plenty of parking available, with options for free parking.

The food was decent, but the portion sizes were very small, including the gammon, especially considering the price I paid. Overall, it was a disappointing meal. Food: 2, Service: 2, Atmosphere: 3.

Very poor food compared to other beefeaters I've been to. Breakfast very poor and luke warm. Evening meal of steak certainly wasn't worth the price. Staff very good though Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
