Bidrage med feedbackI decided to give this restaurant a try based on the good reviews, and I was not disappointed. They don't take reservations, so we arrived after 5:35 on a Thursday and managed to snag the last table for 3 by the window. The building may not be impressive, but don't let that fool you. Our meal was incredible, with deep flavors, fresh ingredients, and a perfect balance of aromas and textures. The dishes were amazing, featuring unique combinations like rose yellow and elderberry kiwi, made with mostly local ingredients. There was only one person serving/hosting, but she was extremely friendly and efficient. This is not a place for a quick meal, as the focus is on relaxing, savoring each bite, and enjoying the moment. The presentation was simple yet elegant, and each dish left us completely satisfied. Having dined in many restaurants in France and Quebec, I can say that Le Saint-Honoré ranks highly, thanks to their passion for using the best ingredients to create classic dishes with a modern twist.
To secure a table, we arrived early around 5:10 PM and were fortunate to have a great view. I had a cocktail while the others had wine. For the first course, our guest selected the crème brûlée with foie gras and gingerbread fig macaroons, which was beautifully presented. My partner enjoyed the foie gras, while I was blown away by the spectacular Saint Honoré with homemade smoked salmon, basil pesto, and garden strawberries. I had never tasted smoked salmon like that before - it was exceptional. Our server, one of the restaurant owners, was attentive and knowledgeable, answering all our menu questions with detail and humor. We enjoyed a red house wine and a white Burgundy with our meal. For the main course, my partner and our guest both ordered the Gaspesian platter, which they raved about. I opted for the braised pork shoulder with mustard sauce, which was also delicious and generous. Despite feeling full, our guest insisted we try the desserts - a pear tart and homemade ice cream with garden crumbles were delightful. Overall, it was a pleasant evening with a 5-star meal. We also admired the unique outdoor wash kitchen before departing at 8 PM as advised, as the tables were quickly filled by other diners. It was a memorable dining experience, and we highly recommend arriving early to secure a table.
I decided to try out this restaurant based on its fantastic reviews, and I am thrilled that I did. It was possibly the best meal I have ever had, and that says a lot as I have lived in both France and Italy. The mushroom risotto and chocolate cake were outstanding, and my son really enjoyed the duck. I only regret not returning for a second visit instead of trying out another restaurant.
Loved this restaurant – one of the best I have ever experienced. we both had the slang de salmon. we wanted to get back, but couldn't get a reservation.
Beautiful cuisine. One of the best meals of our trip. Small selection of appetizers, main courses and desserts. Everything we ordered was fine dining and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the creme brûlée. One of the best I have ever tasted! Simple but quaint dining atmosphere.
