Bidrage med feedbackGreat Thai restaurant in the heart of Carindale. The staff is always friendly and the food is a great place for families, friends or couples.
It used to be a good service and food place. We found plastic in our food. When we asked the person at the reception, we have no reaction. No answer. Food is not cheap either. You expect a good smile... service when you pay the primium price. Otherwise, the same quality food at other Thai places is at much cheaper prices.
There are many Thai restaurants to choose from nowadays, so finding a consistently good one can be a challenge. We decided to make a reservation and dine at The Thai Orchid Carindale on a Friday evening. The restaurant is conveniently located near the shopping center. The service was exceptional from beginning to end, with staff constantly refilling our water glasses and topping up our wine. The restaurant was spacious and the air conditioning worked well to keep us cool on a hot night. The food was delicious and presented nicely. I believe this restaurant would be suitable for both couples and larger groups due to the ample space. The staff were friendly and overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant.
It had been a while since I last ate Thai food and The Thai Orchid at Carindale reminded me of just how great good Thai food can be. We opted for the 'Thai Orchid Banquet ', the smaller if 2 banquet options (minimum 2 people) with...a selection of entrees, 3 main dishes and dessert. It was delicious, my fav being the yellow Thai curry however each dish was wonderful. At $37/person it was a delicious and filling meal. I definitely recommend it.
My partner and I shared the dishes, we started with the fish cakes and tempura vegetables, the fish cakes were lovely and the vegetables were ok but were too oily for my liking (not the usual light crispy traditional Tempura batter). We then shared the...Spicy King Prawn Salad, it looks lovely and is light and delicious but be warned it is definitely spicy, we ended up getting some Coconut Rice to try and make it a tad more mild which worked a treat. We decided to have the Fried Coconut Banana with Caramel sauce for dessert, this was the let down dish for me, very little sauce and the banana had no flavour but all up a yummy night. We were charged $6 each for corkage but on questioning this, it was quickly rectified and apologies were made (corkage fee is $6/bottle). The two wait staff were friendly and attentive. I don't normally tip but these ladies were too good not to. We left feeling satisfied and I'm sure we will be back.
