Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Grill Cardiff

This restaurant serves terrible, low-quality food. The fish is frozen and not fresh, with soggy batter. The service is also very bad. I do not recommend this place at all, as the overall experience was quite unpleasant.

After a lovely evening, it all just fell apart at dessert. On arrival we were asked to present our voucher which we did and this was taken from us. Unfortunately, this was not deducted from the bill and when we queried this, we were told ‘we will take your word for it!’ As if we were lying. No! We gave you our £100 voucher in good faith. This should have been deducted from the total. After settling the bill and making our way out of the restaurant, we were chased down (loudly) by a male member of staff saying we hadn’t settled the bill. On walking back in we were advised it had been paid. We were humiliated. At dinner we were talking about how we will bring family, but this will not be happening. I shall tell every one of our experience. Also, to add insult to injury, the cheesecake is baked after being assured it was not. I will add, the male server who brought us our meals could not have been nicer. He is the only reason for 1 star.

We came for afternoon tea for my friends 25th birthday, 24/11. Not one member of staff made us feel welcome, nobody wishing the birthday girl well despite two big numbered balloons! The sandwiches were slightly stale, were clearly not fresh and the cake portions varied seemed rushed and careless. I ordered a Dirty Martini, which didn’t come with an olive as advertised. I questioned this and they told me they’d put olive brine in, but only had garlic infused olives ‘you wouldn’t want that, would you?’ is what the, I assume, manager followed with. Without wanting to complain and taint the birthday event, I couldn’t not mention the disappointment, from what I would expect to be a high end restaurant. I won’t be returning.

What an awful place!! Service and food were awful!! Avoid this place… we have tried this venue on two occasions now as we like to give a place a chance but on both times the food was horrible and the manager staff were not helpful!! Other table also complained about the food etc

The starter was delicious, the service was quite good, and the wine was enjoyable. However, the steak was cold and all the side dishes, including the battered onion rings, were cold and seemed to be cooked in dirty oil that was too fatty. We decided to skip dessert. It was disappointing to pay £32 for a fillet steak only to have it served cold. We were not satisfied with our experience and will not be returning to any of Marco Pierre White's restaurants. The usual quality associated with the name was lacking today.
