Fantastic live music in the background sat upstairs the food was very high end but good price for the quality of what you had. Went out for a birthday dinner. The place looks great in the day but by night it’s spectacular with lovely lighting in the garden. The old building has been tastefully restored but with a fun vibe. Everything works well. Front of house and waiting staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the proprietor pops out and greets guests by name. The tables are spaced properly apart so you can be private without feeling isolated. The menu is varied enough to offer plenty of choice but short enough to guarantee quality. We shared a fried Brie as a starter. We then had a beautiful hake, chicken wings and a vegetarian aubergine dish. All lovely. We couldn’t fit in a dessert. The accompanying Chardonnay was lovely and extremely well priced. A good choice of drinks both alcoholic and non. A very enjoyable evening without breaking the bank. Called in on an off-chance for Sunday lunch. It was the best Sunday lunch experience I've had in a long time. I chose the lamb, which was full flavoured, and cooked to perfection. I had a side of pigs in blankets. Vegetables are served separately, and extra gravy and cauliflower cheese were provided. The staff are polite and helpful, and the background music was not too loud, and perfectly suited the atmosphere.
