Main Street Restaurant - Carbonear

You can't go somewhere called Saltwater and not get seafood.

Why would a restaurant have a display of a dozen or more live doves in a dirty makeshift bird enclosure in the middle of the restaurant? The enclosure is covered in bird feces and some of the birds are losing feathers. It is completely unsanitary and cruel.

Don't be fooled by the building's exterior. From the outside, it may not look very appealing, but inside you will find authentic Newfoundland cuisine. A word of caution - if you're only looking for a snack, this may not be the place for you. The portions here are generous and filling, so much so that you may find yourself skipping dinner after a late lunch here.

We really enjoyed our food at this restaurant. The loaded traditional fries were amazing and the turkey soup tasted homemade. The sandwich was also generously filled and delicious.
