Mezzaluna - Captiva

Hello, I went here again last week end, and my wife I had a terrible experience. First, we had a Waitress that acted like she was medicated, and was very slow and barely paying attention to us. The food, so POOR. The Pasta was Mushy and had , no flavor, even with the Sauces selected. I left half of it over. Come on, you cannot even cook pasta correctly? Not to mention that I have to pay 2 extra bucks per dish for Whole Wheat. This is my 2nd time, there. There will NOT be a 3rd. The manager just said, let me go "Shake up the Chef....not, "How can I make it up to you... or "I 'm Sorry... Nothing. Stay away. Do not let the attractive fool you. Go elsewhere. We had an excellent experience at Mezzaluna. We were seated right away, and our order was served promptly. Our waiter was very attentive. The prices are reasonable for Sanibel. We’ll definitely be returning!

We arrived on time for our reserved table, but we had to wait 15 minutes. Since we had a toddler with us, we requested that her food be prioritized, but it took 30 minutes to receive our salads and another 30 minutes for our main courses. Unfortunately, the toddler's meal was served at the same time as ours, despite our repeated requests for it to be expedited. Our waitress was friendly but very slow, and she seemed overwhelmed, as did the other staff members. The food itself was disappointing—mushy, bland, and overpriced. On the plus side, the restaurant was kid-friendly, with enough space around the tables and crayons available for drawing. However, I won’t be returning; I’d much prefer to prepare pasta from a box.

I wish I could give less than one star! The so-called wood-fired grilled pizza tasted just like frozen pizza. I've had much better frozen pizza for half the price. The service was painfully slow. My cousins asked for refills of water, but the waiter brought soda instead, taking an eternity and not delivering it until after they had finished their meals. To top it off, they charged us $2.50 for each drink, which was frustrating since we had requested water, and it didn't arrive until we were done eating. Overall, it was way too expensive, and the food was quite unpleasant. We definitely didn't get our money's worth; we spent $70 for the five of us and regretted every penny.

Delicious Italian cuisine in a charming setting! As a fan of chicken parmigiana, I can confidently say this was one of the best I've ever had. Coming from Jersey, I truly appreciated my experience here. The rest of the meal was excellent as well, and our waiter Brian provided exceptional service. Definitely worth a visit! I'll be returning for sure.
