World class cuisine in Cape Girardeau! Who would have thought. I've eaten food all over Italy and the rest of Europe, this food is authentic. The service was perfect and the decor simple and elegant. Le Bistro turns Cape Girardeau into a destination. Thanks.

I can’t wait to go back! It is a ninety minute drive from my house but so worth it. The Australian lamb chops were cooked to perfection and the Boeuf Braise Tortelli was so delicious. And then the desserts! You must try the crepes suzette and cream broulee

WOW! The food was so unique and delicious! I wish I could try everything! The atmosphere was so comfortable and the service was 5/5. Definitely returning!

‘What do I recommend? everything! The food, the drinks, the people all top notch. They say you can’t go home again. I beg to differ. Sometimes not only can you go home, sometimes you find it’s even better! I grew up in a small town in south eastern Missouri named Malden and spent another 19 years living in St.Louis. Cape Girardeau falls right between the two and often a destination growing up. My husband and I found ourselves in Cape recently due to an illness in my family and we wound up spending most of November and December there. Quite by accident we stumbled upon Le Bistro at The Bar while stretching our legs walking around the quaint river town. Curious we stuck our head in the door. They weren’t open but were friendly and welcoming. We were told about “The Bar “ and it’s connection to the movie “Gone Girl” (and of course had to watch it later. After taking a look at the menu we knew we would be back for dinner. French inspired and locally sourced food. Whats not to love? To say we were pleased is down playing it. We were thrilled. I hate to admit I had the lamb more times than I can count while there. Each bite better than the previous. The cocktails were top notch as well and the bartenders a delight. We wound up eating there several times a week during our stay. It was always enjoyable and each time we got to know the chef and the staff a little better and they made us feel like family. We plan on going back in the near future. I think we have tried almost everything on the menu. It’s really that good! Go for the food, stay for the people. Watch the movie. If you have time, walk around the downtown area, stop in the shops, talk to the people. It’s like going home, even if you’ve never been there.
