Fathoms Restaurant Bar - Cape Coral

We go to this restaurant at least once a month. We had family in last month and we recently celebrated Mother's day at Fathoms. Service for the most part was very good. The food unfortunately for the 2nd time in a row failed to meet expectations. We ordered 2 filets, both to be cooked, medium. We got one very over cooked and one as rare as can be. My wife will not eat a rare cut so we switched. I'm not sure why, but of late the food quality has suffered. I felt for the money spent, it was very disappointing, especially for her day.

The pictures and descriptions on the website are a little misleading, making you believe this is a 5-star restaurant. While the dining room is unpretentious, it is also not very elegant. The food was acceptable, however, the prices again reflected fine-dining cuisine. Menu covers a range of seafood, beef and pizzas. I will say the water views are very nice, but hardly breathtaking. The most outstanding of Fathoms was the service! Our server, (Ann? Amy? was friendly, attentive and went out of her way to make recommendations from the menu. Overall, Fathoms is pretty average in a better than average location.

Great view from the covered outside area and the wait staff were all so friendly and attentive. Food not only looked delicious but it was delicious and fresh tasting.We even had a few food restrictions needed and they handled it perfectly!This was a great spot to dine at.

Kid-friendliness: They make the children feel welcome!

Been going there for years, the food use to be the draw, now it's why I won't be back. Great view, terrible food.
