Bidrage med feedbackAfter a long cold walk we were happy to see that the cafe was open. We arrived at 2.40pm wanting to sit down with a nice warming cup of tea inside and thought that would be fine as the closing time was 3.00pm but were abruptly told that it was too late to sit in and it was takeaway only. I thought it was maybe a tad too early to be turning away indoor customers who would not have lingered long.
Lovely food, friendly service, calm, arty atmosphere. Dog friendly and good for vegan and vegetarian.
We visited mid-morning on a weekday and found it nicely bustling with customers. We had a veggie breakfast and creamy mushrooms on toast. The veggie breakfast had really good roasted vegetables and spinach, and the mushrooms were really tasty. The staff were very welcoming, and the only negative for me was being unable to rip a reasonable amount as I had almost no cash. Well oriced, lovely food and feel to the place. Highly recommended.
Such a shame that this please has really nose dived in recent years. The food is passable, but I suspect that they don’t pay much when sourcing products they all look/taste a bit cheap, including the coffee. But the worse thing about this place is how abrupt the owner is. Unless you’re part of her favoured yummy mummy/in crowd, she’ll stick you in the disappointing back room as she doesn’t want you taking up table space in the front (we’re talking about when the cafe is pretty empty, not a heaving weekend). There’s just a funny uptight atmosphere and it’s lost its nice and cosy alternative vibe.
We stopped here for breakfast on our way to the beach, very busy place with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. We managed to get a table and had two coffees and two sausage sarnies. All cooked fresh and on thick uncut bread, very tasty and worth the wait! Dog freindly which was great as we had our two Bassets with us Worth a visit!
