Bidrage med feedbackFinally got around to visiting the Goods Shed, and we decided to have a pit stop at Wild Goose. Fantastic coffee and food. I can’t eat eggs and so it is nice to find a non egg option and one that was beautiful mushrooms on sourdough. Will be back.
Sorry, but after a very long wait, you can’t charge £8.00 for a very average BLT and serve a thimble of warm coffee 20 minutes before the BLT arrives. It’s just not on, The 1 star is for the venue which is lovely and the lady who did apologise for the wait, but we left disappointed and feeling a little bit ripped off to be honest. Style over substance.
The best dirty chai can be found at this amazing place! The barista was lovely and efficient. The short chef with the red hair made me banging creamy mushroom soup! Will definitely return to this place
Called in after visiting the cathedral. It was quite busy and finding somewhere to sit slightly awkward as we shuffled down the side to perch in bar seats. Food prepared in front of us. The squid and lentils advertised wild garlic but despite assurances it was there we failed to taste it. We also failed to see any during four days of cycling country lanes. I had goats cheese and sourdough. The sour dough was presumably toasted and was so dried out it was like croutons. A little softer would have been better. Despite the reservations it is a place we’d come back to for a quick bite.
The Wild Goose is tucked away in one corner of The Goods Shed and not the biggest of dining venues. But it is well worth a visit, at least for breakfast (and probably other meals too)! Service isn't rapid but my eggs benedict were the best that I'd had in a long time and, sitting at the bar with an excellent coffee, I got to watch it being careful prepared. If I lived in Canterbury, The Wild Goose would definitely be regular haunt.
