Shobab - Canterbury

We had a delicious meal tonight from the Shobab. Kerala Mirchiwala and Chicken Tikka Massala were both delicious and I can't get enough of the sauce that comes with the onion bhajis. Everything was ready within half an hour, great service too

They only do takeaway so I expected much better from them. I ordered my curry and was given a time but it went way over and when I tried ringing back, the phone was constantly engaged. We are still waiting an hour and forty five minutes after ordering …. If you can’t get the delivery right then please don’t offer a delivery service

We are thrilled that this restaurant is now open for indoor dining. Although we have not tried their takeout food, we have dined here multiple times as a couple and with friends. Each time, the food has been outstanding from beginning to end. The onion bhajis are excellent, the curries and side dishes are wonderful, and the freshly made naan breads are delightful. We are thankful to have such a fantastic Indian restaurant nearby. And as an added bonus, they currently allow you to bring your own alcohol!

I was very disappointed with this family takeout restaurant. The lamb dish had good flavor, but the meat was tough and unpleasant, and it seemed like it had only been briefly dipped in the sauce. The chicken dish was overly sweet. The starters seemed to have been sitting out for a while, and I suspect they were quickly microwaved instead of being freshly cooked. The naan bread and rice were average. This place used to be great for takeout, but my last few experiences have been really bad - higher prices and smaller portions. I don't think I'll be returning.
