Our spacious 'classic' room is impeccably clean, featuring a large bed and ample space for my yoga mat. There's even a rug on the floor for our dog. It's only a 10-minute walk to the city, which is ideal for our needs.
We had a delightful afternoon tea experience, warmly welcomed by a wonderful staff member named Megan, who is a charming young woman full of enthusiasm for her role. She guided us to a table with breathtaking views and comfortable seating, making us feel at ease without any rush. The food was exceptional, with delicious homemade sandwiches, cakes, and scones. Additionally, we could enjoy as many pots of tea and coffee as we wanted. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to my family and friends. Bravo for such a fantastic experience—we truly enjoyed it!
I attended a wedding at this venue and found it conveniently located near the city center, with plenty of parking available. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was well-maintained and clean. The function room was an appropriate size for the wedding, and there were sufficient restroom facilities for the guests. I had originally planned to stay overnight at the hotel, but due to the government's decision to house migrants there, my fellow guests and I had to seek alternative accommodations across the street. This was somewhat inconvenient, especially since we had to walk about 600 meters in the rain after the evening festivities concluded.
This hotel provides a mixed experience. Its location is fantastic, making it convenient to reach the main attractions in Canterbury. Although the decor and furnishings could use some updating, everything is kept very clean. The reception staff are exceptional, responding to all requests quickly. However, the breakfast service left much to be desired; it took 20 minutes to get a menu, 30 minutes to receive a drink, and an hour for the breakfast to be served.
I had a disappointing experience with a large booking of £4,000 that was canceled seven weeks prior to our stay. The hotel could only accommodate a few members of our group at a different location, which was frustrating. The customer service was inadequate; I found myself being passed from one representative to another without resolution. Additionally, I learned that someone they claimed had left the hotel was, in fact, still employed there. While I understand that the cancellation may have stemmed from issues related to migrants, our reservation was accepted while the hotel was participating in the government scheme. This crucial information should have been communicated when I made the reservation nearly a year in advance. Based on their customer service alone, I would not recommend this hotel. The situation was quite shocking. If the hotel attempts to dispute my review, I have all the call recordings and email correspondence to substantiate my claims.
