Cafe Bom Bom - Caniço

Staff are excellent very clean and food is 5 star

We stumbled upon this place down a side street by accident. Very limited menu. The board outside gives the dish of the day. We had an absolutely delicious chicken curry, very fragrant and generous portions. Dishes cooked by the husband and served by the wife. Both spoke excellent English and very very friendly. If you are after a cheap but tasty meal I would recommend this place.

This cafe is in a side road from the main road, so not found immediately. We recommend everybody who stays in a nearby hotel to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner there...or even better: all three every day. The cook provides different dishes for lunch and dinner everyday. Freshly cooked daily with love and care. And....if you have your preferences, like we did (bacalao) he prepares it with great pleasure...for a very very reasonable price. Healthy too: low in fat, sugar and salt.

Wonderful cafe in Canico.Fatima a delightful hostess and Toni her husband cooks delicious food.We stayed nearby at 5 star accommodation but ate in this homely comfortable cafe every night.We were served soup,dish of the day ,dessert and coffee for a fraction of the price of our hotel.The food was delicious and the menu changed daily.You must try out this gem!!!Fatima and Toni met and worked in London for over 10 years.For British tourists in particular they have a sense of being home but sharing in a Portugese delight.Beef stew,superb fish ,Chicken curry and many more home from home delights.Full breakfast and snacks available throughout the day with extensive opening hours.This cafe was one of the highlights of our stay in Madeira and we returned home with more Euros than expected .Fatima made us her daughters favourite desert a wonderful taste bud stimulation and her own creation .We look back on carefree evenings and superb inexpensive meals with the best Hosts you can imagine .Please visit Cafe Bom Bom if you are in or near Canico.

This place is very popular with the locals and I can see why. The food is ridiculously reasonable and delicious and home cooked. I strongly recommend the swordfish fillet which was only €5! The manager was really friendly and the place was very clean. I will definitely come again.
