Pizzeria la Pizzarra - Cancún

A nice change after eating Mexican for the week. We opted for several pizzas which hit the spot. Location is on the water on the backside of an open air mall.

I kinda sorta predicted ahead of time that food at this restaurant might not meet the expectations. Many 5-star reviews were reviewed by people who only had, well new account and only one review. However, we craved gluten and decided to get a spinach artichoke dip and Verdure pizza. The artichoke dip was served warm in a bread bowl with a few pieces of toast. It lacked creaminess and spinach but it was okay. Also okay was pizza, which lacked flavor so we seasoned it ourselves. Perhaps the best part were bread rolls. Our server was not attentive and only came to take order and collect the check. He might have brought our drinks, but can’t really recall. We had to stop the hostess couple of times for help. I will say that an ambiance was good and saxophone player provided some entertainment. All in all, $40+ tip was stretching it once all things considered.

Fresh pesce dishes were very good. cocktails were interesting and tasty, view of the lagoon was awesome, and service was just the right level of attentiveness. Prices were very reasonable too! Highly recommend it.
