Bidrage med feedbackHeaded here for breakfast, had some amazing eggs on toast, it was a lot fancier than that I just cant remember what it was called, definitely great food.
Stopped in for lunch and was impressed by the tasty Udon Noodle Broth (perfect for a cool winter day). Hubs enjoyed the Sobrassada on Toast. Lots of great flavours in both dishes (and the portion sizes were quite generous). I would love to go back and try a more extended meal some time. The menu looks creative and original -- something I always appreciate. atozaatar.wordpress.com
Went here to catch up with an old friend I have not seen for a year and he recommended this place. Verdict? It is like a subpar Cumulus if you have been there. However, really enjoyed the dessert ( poached pear with ice cream) which was not sickeningly sweet and the mascarpone cream was rich and velvety smooth. The salty crispy bits also add nice contrast to the whole dish.
A Baker is located opposite Hotel Hotel, you walk through this little zen like garden before you reach the entrance. The garden is full of herbs and spices, we even ate a black chilli from the tree! Great atmosphere inside, we booked just before so we got seated right away. Service is great and friendly. Drinks were noted right away while we read the menu. We ordered Seafood spaghetti - seafood was cooked nicely, nice light dish, on a bed of kale. Was fresh and healthy. A surprise with black garlic which I first thought was olives. A little peppery for my liking. Udon noodle broth - nice smokey pork, nice Asian flavours with black garlic. Nice and hot for chilli autumn Canberra weather. Slow cooked eggs - all gooey on the inside. The sight of oozing yolk in the morning makes your day. We also had a side of cured salmon. That's always a must for breakfast. The meal was enjoyable with good coffee to match. Their menu is a fresh and healthy start to a day. I would definitely return to try their seasonal menu.
