Cape Town Fish Market

It was my anniversary and I was really disappointed in the food. My seafood potjie was so salty and mostly boiled potato and carrots. My husband's platter for 1 was so bland and fish was dry. The cocktails however were on point.

We were well received. The service was not bad at all. We had sushi for starters. Very good, fresh ingredients, well made and presented. Our mains was a bit disappointing. I had a fish fish which was great. My companion ordered noodles, which was very disappointing. Badly flavored, strange smell. The manager was great though. The drinks were fabulous. There was entertainment for the 6-year old with us. Generally a good experience, except for the noodles.

Terrible service from your waiter named James. Upon introducing himself, he was friendly, following that he asked for our order which we gave and he immediately walked away without confirming we were done ordering. We needed to stop him in his tracks to give him the last of our order. We asked for the bill and upon payment James asked whether we were adding a tip to which we rejected as he had seen the value of the order and what we intended to pay given that his service was poor. Terrible food, cheesey bread is literally a roll from the supermarket with a slice of cheddar slapped on top… Nothing more… Service was even worse and zero atmosphere. Guess it explains why it was empty. Stay away.

Been here plenty of times and it's hardly disappointing. Food is always a winner here and the ambience is always good. Just one thing that needs to taken into consideration is the service. The food takes a really long time to be served and there are very few waiters on the floor to ask for anything. Overall, it's fine.
