Bidrage med feedbackI've been slacking and not been writing many reviews but my recent experience here has prompted me to do so (warning; personal rant ahead). Regattas is situated by the Torrens River and shares the same complex with the Convention Centre. Given its location and association, it is clearly a missed opportunity for something better and more sophisticated but I digress. We went to Regattas for brunch after our little trip to Brick-a-laide, found a table outside and sat ourselves down. There were no "wait to be seated" or table service so we showed ourselves to the bar got the menus and ordered. We had the beef burger and beer battered fish and chips. And I have to say, they did these quite well. The burger patty was thick and juicy whilst the beer battered fish and chips were cooked well and combined well with their tartar sauce. They managed to mix up part of our orders so one of us had to wait for the last burger. But as a silver lining, the waitress was kind enough to offer us a free beverage for the inconvenience. Regardless, we were all quite happy despite the mix up which happens occasionally. However, that wasn't the end of it. Towards the end of our meal, a waiter came up to us and told us off for sitting on the reserved table. We rebutted that there wasn't a reserve sign which he pointed to one HIDDEN in a little bucket with cutleries. He quipped "it was there since 10am this morning, I put it there". I was quite baffled at his condescending tone and the fact of the matter is, what does he even expect us to do? Stand up and walk away? Apologise profusely that we did not see the hidden reserve sign? It was still lost to me today. At that point in time, the other waitress has managed to set up a different table for the reserved guests so it really wasn't necessary for him to "inform" us anyway. We finished of our meal and left with a bitter taste in our mouths. It was really unfortunate that people such as "Daniel" still work in the service industry where I doubt they understand the scope of their work. It is what they are paid for anyway...service. So quick personal shoutout, please leave your attitude at home and do your job! Rant over...

Went for pre show dinner- perfect location if heading to the Festival Theatre. The service was lovely from start to finish we sat inside as is slightly odd they don't do table service outside, but that's a minor thing. Beef fillet, lamb rack & pork cutlet great dishes but stand out was the beef carpaccio- deelish! Really reasonably priced with a good wine list too. Will return to eat overlooking the water next time. Really nice experience overall ☺
Let start with the positives... None If you sit 2 metres from the patio door on the outside. You have to order at the bar. Sit on the other side of the glass door and you get table service. For the same price, yep no service and the same price for food and drinks. The fish of the day was hard and wrapped in thick batter, but it could have come out of the river Torrens 50 metres away. The pork meal with crackle had no crackle and the bit on the plate look and tasted like something out of a packet, the Bok choy not even cooked. Service was no existent with left over main course plates left on the table when when desert was served. They were just move not removed off the table. Do your self a favour and go to Peel or Leigh street.
I had the best fish and chips at this place at tea time and Excellent river view! But another I went back for dinner but not as good as expected. It is not bad overall.
