This is a beautiful place to visit during a trip to the Dingle Peninsula in southwest Ireland. My friends and I ended here because we walked the Dingle Way, a multi-day hiking trail that surrounds the peninsula. The path starts in Tralee and day 1 is about 13 miles and ends in a place called Camp where Ashes is located. The food here was hearty and perfect for relaxation after a long day of hiking. Good, fresh, cold pints and a few local brews. Large Irish ambience and decor, from the old Guinness paraphernalia to the cichlid of the middle century. It felt great to be there. The staff was very nice and accommodating. And this is for me, the best part of our visit here. Look, because of our overnight/redeye flight to Ireland from the USA, we arrived at Tralee at about 1:45 and only started our hiking trail at 3 p.m. We had to cover 13 miles and come to Ashes before they were closed for the night, and we came there in time. But the people there cooked us a great meal and treated us so well. We couldn't thank them enough. I read one of the poorer reviews below; some travelers might find it a bit expensive, but to be honest it's on par for the area we were walking there for 9 days, and that was not overpriced at all. And as a spicy food I found myself again and again a little salt, pepper and hot sauce to most dishes in Ireland; We loved Ashes and I'll be sure to be back when I find myself on the Dingle Peninsula.
