Cucu' - CAMOGLI

..but perhaps needs to up it's game a litte? We were back in Camogli after a few years and wanted to return here having remembered how good it was. It is still friendly and from my recollection slightly eccentric? However this time both the service and the food were patchy. We had the feeling that we they could do with a few extra hands and the food was only ok. Seemed at the higher in terms of the other restaurant prices locally which I would say is difficult to justify at the moment. I'm prepared to accept that we might have caught them on an off night, but it all felt a bit rushed and inattentive.

The staff is very helpful and nice, prices are okey but the food was very uneven. We were seven so we tried a few different ones, some were very good whereas some were just meh. The vegetable tartar was the definition of bland whereas the meat dish was superb. If you choose the right dishes you will be very happy, but there is also a risk of let downs. In general, there were just too little taste from many of the dishes. Many wines to choose from (although we had the house wine) and a very genuine Italian feel.

Between us we had pesto lasagna, fresh anchovies and spaghetti, spaghetti with octopus in ragu(this was particularly good) and shared a plate of shrimp and scampi. Dessert was mascarpone with chocolate-very rich but good. The menu is not extensive but everything was delicious. We sat outside which was so pleasant.

It's been a while since we wanted to try it and we did it yesterday. the restaurant offers menu strictly based on fish, fresh and prepared at the moment (considered the waiting times very good the lean and cappon light and completes the mixed fried (not with the usual squids and shrimp but abundant of other types of fish.) good service, if it was not that my reach arrived very early than that of my partner (with the consequence that he had to look at me while eating and I had to do just as it was.

The restaurant is such and which its owner, eccentric, pleasant and fun. it has only the sin of being genoic but we talk about restaurants so as to accept all the rivalry of football... in purple! we had dinner outside the restaurant along the course very nice and well kept. the restaurant offers dishes prepared in the Ligurian tradition and presented with excellent level. all very good and of visible quality. an excellent experience a single tip, not for the restaurant but for those who manage the city.
