Bidrage med feedbackReally sad to rate poorly! We visited on a Friday evening for a drink and really enjoyed it but Saturday night we attempted to visit for a drink before returning to our hotel and were greeted by 2 of the rudest alleged bouncers. They looked my husband up and down and refused to let him in. I pointed out how rude he was and they became very aggressive. Very disappointing. I say alleged bouncers as they had no formal evidence they were when I questioned them.
Thank you Ty for making us for very welcome!! Best bar in the area, ask for Ty. Thank you so much y
So i went here with 2 friends and 15 minutes after the 2nd round the lady that had served us advised that the Amex card used for that round didn't go through as they do not accept Amex. Not a problem. My friend asked for a rejection receipt and whilst the lady was explaining to us that they do not get these receipts for Amex (my mate was getting his Monzo card out to pay), the landlord decided to get involved and said that my mate should pay for the drinks and check his card in the morning. He was about to pay for the drinks anyway but the landlord was incredibly rude and asked us to leave the pub. My friends went to the toilet and I stayed at the bar to finish my drink, at which time the landlord decided to belittle the situation. I do not leave many reviews but have to say that the landlord is not fit to run a bar. He did not need to get involved as my friend was about to pay for the drinks on his Monzo card but felt the need to show his authority when his member of staff was handling the situation perfectly. Maybe take a leaf out of her book in future pal.
My friend and I were looking for a casual drink in a traditional pub setting, as opposed to the upscale hotel atmosphere. We stumbled upon a fantastic spot that perfectly fit the bill. The bar staff was friendly and attentive, the beer selection was impressive, and the atmosphere felt like stepping back in time to an old city bar. Plus, I was amazed by the size of the aperol spritz they served me - it was the largest one I had ever seen!
I visited a restaurant that advertised vegan food outside and decided to go in for a bite to eat. Upon entering, I noticed there was no physical menu but instead a QR code posted on the wall. I was informed that I had to scan the code and order through the restaurant's app on my phone; ordering through the app was mandatory and I couldn't order with a waiter using the mobile phone menu. When I asked what to do if I didn't have a phone or a smartphone, I was told there was nothing that could be done. The app also required my name and email address, which I questioned the necessity of since I was already sitting in front of the staff. Despite my concerns, I was unable to override the app and ended up placing my order and paying through it. To my surprise, the app added a 10% tip that I couldn't remove, even though I felt that I had done all the work in placing my order. The staff was not the problem, as they were only following the rules set by the pub owner. I was disappointed with the entire experience, and would not recommend giving them your business. Additionally, the food was average at best.
