The available opening hours, the pricing and the unhappy staff do not lend one to want to dine here. Late opening and early closing . The bartender is the server and In a week there I never saw more than one staff member on duty.

The menu is small, but you can be sure that everything they do make, it's done from scratch and in-house. While I was tempted to order their special (salmon with dill, etc I had their in-house made beer-battered fish chips as I'd been craving...this fare for a few weeks now. And what a treat! Not at all greasy, but hot and perfectly cooked, the fish was halibut no less! The fries were also house-cut and delicious, like a Parmesan herb sprinkling over them I didn't even use any ketchup on them (also not greasy). I would not be surprised if the tartar sauce was also homemade. My server, Dianne, was very attentive and friendly, made my mild Caesar cocktail just the way I asked she even made sure before she left my table after I had my first sip Overall, it was a delightful surprise to find an on-site restaurant at the hotel I was staying at, let alone with food as good as it was. BTW, first time EVER after eating fish chips that I did NOT have an upset stomach, I'm positive it was the absence of greasiness that one usually gets with deep fried foods.

We were heading to Toronto from Windsor in last weekend. The next morning we were starving. The included buffet breakfast was very god and tasty.

I had a great time with my family when I visited this restaurant years ago. During my recent trip to Cambridge, I chose to stay in the hotel because I remembered how comfortable the restaurant was. The prices are reasonable for a hotel restaurant and the food surpasses most places in Cambridge. The staff is friendly and the soup was perfect for a cold day. The atmosphere is what I love most about this restaurant - it's calm, tidy, and the tables are well arranged. The lighting is just right and the chairs are very comfortable. The merlot I had was smooth and the serving size was generous compared to other places. It's also a great spot to bring well-behaved children and enjoy a meal with family.

The Fireside Grill is a quaint and charming establishment, offering food of mediocre quality at a higher price point. Despite this, the service provided was exceptional.
