Bidrage med feedbackI've wanted to try this place ever since I saw the sign that it was coming on the site of the former Corner Skillet. So my wife & I went there for supper one evening, looking forward to a unique ethnic meal of a variety we had not tried before. We were disappointed, however, to discover that the food served wasn't exactly Spanish per se, but could more accurately be described as Hispanic or Latin since it featured mostly dishes from Central and South America. But that little disappointment aside, we found the food and service to be very good and plan to come back again to try some of their other offerings.
We are local to this restaurant and have enjoying eating at it frequently. Unfortunately, today was a very bad experience. The food was (and always is) very good, but the service was terrible. It started with sitting down, we had to wait for quite a while for our order to be taken, and we were not brought the customary kids menus for our kids. We waited 45 minutes for the food, and when it came, it was clear they had missed half the order. We had to wait further for my and my daughter's meal. Many little things as well: the wrong food was brought to our table twice, we had to ask to have our water refilled, part of our dessert was brought and the rest was left sitting on the window while the waitress did something else. Mistakes happen, orders can get missed, but it's the restaurants responsibility to keep their customers happy by having an acceptable level of service. Hire more staff, own up and apologize profusely when things get missed or you make your customers wait too long for food, or at least let people know there will be a wait, or provide complimentary chips and salsa while they are waiting. If the restaurant messes up (by missing half the table's order) it should be reflected in the bill or something should be done to make it up.It's super sad to not be able to eat here any more, but the delicious food does not make up for the completely unacceptable level of serve.
Food is fantastic here, very fresh, veggies hand selected, service was very good, restaurant is clean, some unique, fun things to eat.
I been here with my colleagues, everybody looked the food. We had Chimichanga, Pollo con mole, Quesadilla. The fish wasn't good here. We are not Mexicans, we tried another restaurant in Cambridge downtown which was the best one. I reviewed this place comparing the taste with the former one.
Went here yesterday for an evening bite to eat. I think Genesis has now taken the title as my favorite place to get Mexican in Cambridge. Yesterday I had the nachos and a pork and cheese papusa. Both were pretty excellent. The nachos were pretty simple, topped with lettuce, tomato, cheese and feta on fresh made tortillas. Came with refried beans to dip. We also ordered some Guacamole. My sister-in-law tried the chimichangas and was quite happy with it. I had been there maybe 6 months before and enjoyed the food, but I feel it was even better yesterday. Maybe different cook or something. They serve breakfast, with traditional Canadian fare, but they do serve a Latin American Breakfast which I'm definitely angling to try sometime soon.
