Formaggio Kitchen - Cambridge

I have been going here for years but hadn’t been for awhile…. I went yesterday and I would say this is probably the best specialty independent food store in the United States. I have been in the food business more than 40 years Made possible by their dream location which they certainly cater to. I can’t run back fast enough

Prepared food was our target and this place has a small variety of cooked dishes available by the pound. We got a sub that we split three ways and it was filling. Desserts look fresh and there are cheeses and wine among other gourmet sundries. Be prepared to pay for the exclusive preparations. I also paid for some cherry and almond biscotti $15 with taxes, 6 pieces)... Looking forward to enjoying some at breakfast tomorrow.

Great selection, friendly staff, popped in on a lark to pick up pretzels and sweet mustard for Weißwurst, and they didn't disappoint!

All departments are fabulous! I especially appreciate the high quality of the fish and how knowledgeable the fish mongers and butchers are.

I bought a half pound of prosciutto at about 30 bucks a pound and could not even get a sandwich out of it! How is that possible? Well for starters the prosciutto was sliced thinner than the plastic that’s was used to keep the slices separated, which basically means that I paid a total of 30 bucks a pound for more plastic than prosciutto! That’s more like 60 bucks a pound for straight prosciutto! You could blame me for not requesting a thicker cut, which was what was said to me when I gently called the cheese counter to let them peacefully know!! I like the store but do not like the way it was handled. If you sell high end goods and charge high end prices then you should GIVE HIGH END SERVICE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. Ill make sure I demand it the next time.
