Feeling the need for some arvo tea, Beaker suggested that we get some baked goodies from Through Road Pantry. TRP is located in, well, Through Road in Camberwell. It’s a nice little strip of local shops. I’m told that while TRP does nice baked goods, in recent times, its popularity has been eroded by the relatively newcomer in Through Road, Miss Frank (a more slick operation). Having had a gawp at the goodies in both TRP and MF, I was more interested in what TRP had to offer (an impressive range of goodies for one thing). It’s a simple bakery with a slight air of retro chic to it. In the window, all the many and lovely baked goodies are displayed, and when we walked in, there was an absolutely divine aroma of freshly baked sausage rolls that greeted us. In some ways, it felt like I was walking into nanna’s kitchen – warm and comforting, as opposed to the trendy and modern cafe that is Miss Frank. In keeping with the old school set up, there are no tables and chairs at TRP. It’
Great price, great eating and amazing friendly staff. it is a rustic family business the cakes are absolutely delicious with a lot of to choose. there is also a great selection of amazing cakes. ends up getting the lemon meringue tart and the lemon tart for the family we demolished everything. fresh and brownish and the crust was perfectly crunchy. highly recommended for those who are looking for reliable good foods that do not break the bank that shorts them to find such quality of food for this price!
On this local little bakery after a hearty brunch over the street. the cakes and baked caught me the eye, so I decided to get a jam doughnut and a burgundy tea. the marmelade doughnut, which serve for the lack of jam, was in the did a beautiful tasty. light and soft, with a slightly rugged outer. the rindburgunder cakes were dusted with fillings and very tasteful with a rich and robust sauce. flaky buttery baked this delicious cake. dear and friendly service from the dame behind the theke, and with such a delicious selection of baked, it only means that I have to return to try them all, right?
After I miss frank had left to brunch (which is almost opposite), I took up a cured bark cake for a friend (which I shared at the end) of this sweet little bakery/mirror. they had a wonderful selection of cakes, baked and even suppe. the cake itself was delicious. it had a nice flocky chest and good baked to meat ratio.
