Whilst staying at Cameret sur mer we went to Chez Phillips on two occcasions, we had two wonderful meals. Their shellfish meals were the best we had whilst spending a week in Cameret. We were made to feel very welcome and had an excellent meals...More
I cannot recommend this place. We had the 29euro menu. I started with langoustines, which were presented as rather small, cold shellfish and a bland mayonnaise. I followed with rack of lamb, which was presented as over-cooked lamb chops. The cafe gourmand desert was a little better, but not exciting. Very poor value for money and the bottle of muscadet was not presented in an ice-bucket. We were not provided with salt and pepper until I demanded it.Overall, most unsatisfactory.
Quality food and an excellent service. If you like avoiding turist-traps and want to try authentic French cuisine at an affordable price you should come to this place. The staff don't speak English but they are extremely helpful.
Of all the eateries in Camaret Sur Mer Chez Phillips offered the best choice for my husband's mussel cravings, and my mollusc phobia. Initially the restaurant was so busy we thought we wouldn't get in but the turnaround was efficient and after a 10 minute stroll we returned in time to bag a table with view. The set meal was simple but well cooked, delicious and generous. The service was friendly: the waiter didn't laugh at my poor French once. An idyllic setting for a lovely meal.
