Chicatana - Calumet-Norvelt

Wow! One of the better meals I’ve had in a while. Very tender Lengua Tacos, great corn appetizer (I forget the name) and amazing Passion Fruit Flan.You can’t go wrong.

I've been hunting good tacos in D.C. since I moved here from Denver a dozen years. These were fantastic.Flavors are authentic, bright and fresh. House made tortillas are perfect, flavorful and soft but stout enough to hold those delicious fillings. Carne asada was the bomb, lengua was subtle but delicious, cauliflower grilled to the next level, gorgeous. Rockfish was tasty. The toppings for all were piquant and played just right, not too much, but fully playing their role. Eager to try more. Atmosphere is fun, small, crowded, but it was easy to hear each other, which is increasingly rare. Staff was great, prices very good for D.C. Thrilled to find this place and I will be back soon.

Went to Chicatana on a whim for HH and man it was a great decision. Strong and tasty margaritas, tacos delish, everything delish .. took some churros to go and they smell amazing. Will be back!
