All-purpose Shaw - Calumet-Norvelt

We noticed All Purpose a couple of weeks ago (after passing unnoticed many times) and decided why not. So glad we did.Happy hour is a great deal if you 're getting pizza. The Standard is deeply discounted. Nicely chewy browned crust that holds up without caving under ingredients. We got mushrooms on one a generous covering. We asked to go light on the cheese, perfectly done.We ordered pickled cauliflower which was a wonderful surprise of flavors and light, unpuckery vegetables. So good we got 2 orders.All served by cheery, helpful, efficient staff including Jose Chan.

WHERES BRANDY ?!?! WE ALWAYS CAME IN TO SEE HER AND HER WARM ENERGY BUT IT SEEMS SHAWS LOST A TRUE GEM !

Voted Washingtonian 2024 Top 100 Restaurants in D.C., it does not disappoint!They are known for their 12 pizzas, which I would recommend sharing between 2 people, unless you are quite hungry. Their crust is unbelievable and we enjoyed the Vesuvio pizzaWe also tried the Arancini Siciliano as an appetizer, and I wouldn 't recommend it, as the flavors didn 't mix well.The servers are really attentive, coming to replace the silverware between courses and they have quality cloth napkins. The restaurant is quite cozy, and I would recommend making reservations if one visits during the evening.

Two very good Buona pizzas (pickup $22 each) one glass of wine, and a $75 bill, inclusive 20 per cent service charge. All Purpose, which is consistently full for good reason, should revisit its extortionate service charge. As a customer, I don't know what the service charge accounts for but who in their right mind wants to pay $85 90 in this instance to include a tip for wait staff. This is pure extortion.

Quick bite to eat turned into soo much more. Greeted warmly by the staff and were seated at the bar (try to have a reservation) very quickly. The drink specials were a hit with flavors we’ve never tried before. The small place packs a lot in such a small place. The bar gives a good view of the drinks being made and donning gives you a good view of the pizzas being made. Our pizza was absolutely delicious would get again. The ceaser salad was a good portion with plenty of dressing I loved it. This place is warm and I’ll have you enjoying the space for just a little while longer
