Tillys Pit Pub - Calumet City

The atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We started with the spinach dip, which tasted old and seemed like it had just been reheated in the microwave. For our main courses, we ordered the catfish and chicken tenders. My husband had initially wanted the fried ribs, but we were informed that they no longer serve those, despite them being listed on the menu. To make matters worse, they were out of lemonade and sweet tea, leaving us with only water as a non-alcoholic option. When our food finally arrived, the only item that had any flavor at all were the soggy French fries, which they had merely sprinkled with salt.

The experience was okay. The service was pleasant, but I found the food and drinks to be quite overpriced. I understand that prices have been rising everywhere, but it was still shocking. There’s a $10 cover charge after 7 PM on Fridays, which meant I had to pay before even sitting down to eat. I ordered two catfish fillets and fries, along with two drinks, and my total came to $57, not including the tip—so it ended up being well over $60 for just one person. I stayed for the karaoke, which was entertaining and enjoyable. However, I likely won't be returning anytime soon due to the high prices. Overall, it was a decent experience.

This was hands down the best burger I've ever had! It was so good that I needed both hands to manage it. The fries were simply fantastic—perhaps my hunger made them taste even better, haha! The karaoke entertainment provided by We're Brothers Karaoke was a lot of fun. The drinks were quite strong too! I should mention there was a cover charge when I visited.

The menu has been refreshed, the patio is now open, and the food remains delicious.

I believe I've reviewed this place before, but I couldn't resist sharing my excitement about their new turkey sausage option for pizza (I don’t eat red meat or pork). The catfish and grits are absolutely fantastic—you'll find yourself dancing while you enjoy your meal! The Bottomless Mimosas are just right as well. I absolutely love Tilly's! It has the perfect blend of lively music, great customer service, and incredible food.
