El Canelo - Calumet City

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant on a rainy Friday night. The margaritas were huge, 32 ounces to be exact, and the selection of tasty Mexican dishes was a perfect way to end the week. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were seated quickly and greeted with hot, crispy chips and delicious salsa. The margaritas were refreshing and came in various sizes, but we opted for the jumbo ones. The menu was extensive, with plenty of options to choose from. I tried the new barbacoa tacos, which were flavorful and filling. The dish also came with beans and rice on the side. My meal was so large that I had leftovers for the next day, which tasted just as good reheated. My companion had the special plate, a delightful mix of shrimp, chicken, and chorizo served on a sizzling hot plate. The servers were attentive and happily provided us with more chips and salsa. Overall, we had a great time and are excited to return in the future.

The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is extremely clean, and the bathroom is perfectly and well-equipped.
