SI Foods - Calgary

We have visited SI Foods more than three times and have been consistently impressed with the quality and taste of their South Indian dishes. The menu offers a variety of options, but our favorites so far have been the Masala Dosa, Fried Idli, and Parotta. The food is authentic and delicious.

This restaurant is expensive, not suitable for dining in due to its small size, and the packaging is mediocre. I would give it a 2 out of 5 star rating. I did not enjoy the sambhar.

Had Onion masala dosa and idli and I must say it is best I have had in Calgary! The place is basic but nice and clean tucked away in Westwinds. The Owner and cook are very courteous. This is supposed to be a 100% veg restaurant so all the more better! The pricing beats all the other restaurants in Calgary! I hope they grow as a chain in other parts of Calgary and Alberta. Parking spots can be a little difficult during busy times. They have dedicated parking spots nearby the restaurant. Highly recommended!

We had the most wonderful lunch today. The three of us shared two dosas and a thali. Delicious. Fresh. Perfectly spiced. Authentic. The thali had 13! different delicious foods. The dosas were onion -amazing - and chili - wow. We had a terrific starter, I forget the name. And a really good masala chai and gulab jamun. We have just returned from India and we were missing really good local Indian foods. SI (Southern Indian) Foods really answered the need. The location is a bit confusing. Turn right into the parking lot and turn right and right again. It's worth it. Enjoy!

This was my second visit . I had combo breakfast with coffee during my first visit. It turned out to be an awesome experience. Today's visit I had "Onam Sadhya" in banana leaves. The food again was very authentic and one can make out from flavour the freshness. Both th time it was a worthwhile experience. I would definitely recommend anyone seeking authentic South Indian food . There is a waiting time but worth the quality
