Shillelagh's Pub - Calgary

My wife and I decided to try a new place. we live in the are. Bad mistake. ordered the meat pie with puff pastry. food came after 5 minutes. Pastry was not fresh and just warmed up.. The filling was warm. Very disappointing. Will never go back.

Went here looking for an Irish pub and that is what I found. Beer selection is great. I had the lobster and bacon Mac and cheese. It was really good. Wing night on weds I will have to go back tomorrow for there wings.

I gave Jameson's a day's notice that I would be arriving for dinner Thursday night with a group of 20, and they handled us really well, giving us a separate table and wait staff. The food was pub style, which they kept bringing by the platter until all were successfully full. The pulled pork and the chicken wings were great as well as the beef dip sliders. The beer and alcohol flowed to wash down the food, and I must confess I was surprised at the end of the night that the total wasn't 50% higher than what it was. Well done Jameson's!

Food can sometimes be really good or really bad, same goes for the service, be prepared for an attitude! Last visit was a Tuesday night...great drink specials and there were 15 cent ribs lots of different flavors) and steak sandwiches on special. Tried both and they were great. Although the sizes of the steaks from one plate to the next really varied which was odd.
