Popeye’s Chicken - Calgary

Always enjoyed this place down south so finding them up in Canada is so welcome. Great crispy chicken not greasy perfectly cooked and great sides. Clean friendly outlet with veru friendly staff.

Amazing, juicy chicken burgers that are actually spicy! Loved it! The fries and onion rings, though, are not worth it. The price is steep for fast food, but it's worth it (for the burgers and chicken, at least). The lines can get long but I can see why. The staff are some of the nicest!

Decided to try this place out on a whim. Glad we did as it was pleasantly better than KFC...so there's a place to go for fried chicken that doesn't serve over priced greasy chicken! This is a basic storefront restaurant so there's no décor to speak of, the staff were polite and efficient and the food was good. I wouldn't recommend the onion rings--bland and just under crispy. Other than that the food was good and the rice and beans side was a refreshing change as an option. I wouldn't necessarily search out Popeye's...but if I was looking for fried chicken fare I would go here over their competitors.

We fell in love with Popeye's chicken before it came to Calgary so were happy to see it finally open here --- although the other Calgary location is always busy when we go by, we found out about the Evanston Dr location. It is easy to find, in a strip mall, along Evanston Drive (at/along 2060 Symons Valley Parkway). The location is not big inside so do not come expecting a lot of seating. There are benches outside on which you may find a nice place to sit if it is sunny out. Although there was a line up to order, we did not have to wait long to order OR to pick up our food. The staff is very friendly for being under pressure being so busy. The food did not disappoint us -- we had the spicy chicken (they have non spicy if you so wish), which is spicy but not unbearably hot. We chose the "Two Can Dine special " for $15.99 which gives you a good variety of items. We ordered the spicy Cajun fries which did not seem spicy at all. The coleslaw is really good. We really enjoyed our meal and vow to come back for a rerun!'

Popeyes has their franchise training down! We went to the newly opened location a few weeks after trying the Forest Lawn location and it was just as good. Sorry KFC, this might be the begging of the end for you guys.
