Oriental Phoenix Restaurant - Calgary

The food here is really good. Service was slow but overall really good.

I’m not the type to be leaving a negative review even if my experience is bad but I had to make this post. I visited oriental phoenix for the first time on a random Wednesday lunch time maybe two/three weeks ago. It was quite busy and there were no servers at the front to take me to a table and I had to stand n wait for a server to notice me for about 10 minutes. It was my first time here and I work near by so I didn’t fuss about it. Get to a seat and I ordered sate beef with a side dish of spring rolls. I’m a sate beef enthusiast. Ordered at 12:10pm. My cup of water arrived at 12:30pm and my spring roll arrived at 12:55pm. I was pissed. Pho arrived after 1pm. And to top it off, their sate beef was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The broth tasted like water, absolutely no flavor at all. And they have the nerves to charge $20 for this noodle bowl of spicy water. Anyone who thinks their sate beef taste good likely never had a proper sate beef (like the one at Pho Hoai by Harry Hayes building) or either have really really low standards with pho. I am never going back.

Get better servers who don’t treat their customers poorly server is rude and has stink attitude when you ask a simple question she shouldn’t be a sever if she can’t handle a simple questions she’s disrespectful and if she doesn’t wanna serve the customer or can’t be nice she shouldn’t be in the service industry your going to lose a lot of customers word of month is powerful the lady with the a short under ear hair cut should be fired

I heard about this place and I am very impressed with the service.I will go there again
