Mercato West - Calgary

The peach Bellini was good. I love the capriosa salad. The bisteka was so good. I loved the tagliatelle and the brussel sprouts. The tiramisu is not quite as good as it used to be. The limoncello and cappuccino was good.

There are 2 sides to Mercato. A la carte and the Market side.We went to the Market side. The meals were delicious. Family members had a range of food such as Carbonara, Rigatoni, Chicken Parmagiana, pizza and burgers.Service was friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend a visit.

Have been to Mercato West a couple of times and find the food as authentic as you can get outside of Italy. The pastas are fresh and flavoursome and service is steady and frequent as you would like at a restaurant like this. The Bistecca does come a little rare compared to Florence but no problem for a nice cut of meat, but be aware. Great wine list too. If you want high end Italian at a reasonable price, this is the place to go.

The Mercator is billed as fine dining, that is a stretch. The dining room is very loud. Every item on the menu is for two people so everything is shared. The food was good but no better than the pub across the street. Expensive.

Usually go to the 4th street location but decided to come try this one. We had the linguine with the prawns, it was by far the best pasta I have ever had! Thank you our server Cody for suggesting this dish for us! See you again soon.
