Lloyd's Patty Plus - Calgary

I decided to visit this restaurant based on the positive reviews I saw online, and I am glad that I did! I ordered the jerk chicken box and a chicken Jamaican patty. The jerk chicken was spicy, making me sweat a bit, but it was delicious and came in a generous portion size. The Jamaican patty was just okay, as I'm not a big fan of them. I will definitely be back for the jerk chicken, but the patties are also a good choice for only $2.50 each. Overall, I highly recommend trying out this Caribbean gem - you won't be disappointed!

I finally had the opportunity to try out this restaurant and I am so happy that I did. I am a big fan of Jamaican patties, but unfortunately I don't come across them very often. While you can easily get a patty from a convenience store or frozen from the grocery store, it's just not the same as a fresh homemade one. I ordered two beef patties (regular spice) and they exceeded my expectations. The crust was flakey and delicious, and the beef inside was perfectly seasoned. The regular spice level was just right for me, as I didn't want it to overpower the flavors of the beef. The patties were a good size, just slightly larger than a large palm, but I would recommend ordering at least two because you'll finish the first one before you know it and be craving more. I will definitely make this restaurant a regular stop whenever I am in town.

Spicy beef patties YES. I have to make this 140 characters but that's really all there is to say. This is a takeout place. Get all the spicy beef patties you can carry.

Since the area in the front is so small and gets a little chaotic when it's busy, Im basing my rating solely on what they're famous for, the patties. I've been a customer of Lloyds on and off for over 20 years and other than the location, nothing much has changed. The Jamaican patties are delicious. My favourites are the spicy beef and regular chicken. Eat them hot or take them home cold and heat them up in the oven. Sooooo good!!

I have been a fan of their patties for over 20 years. No other brand compares. I used to buy them in bulk and would frequently stop by for fresh ones. However, I recently noticed the calorie count and now I only treat myself occasionally. It's difficult to indulge like I used to, even though I wish I could.
