Insadong Korean BBQ - Calgary

The food is authentic and brings back fond memories of living in Korea, 40 years ago. The kitchen staff are amazing and the service staff are fun. Love the 60+ discount, too!

I read a review not too long ago about how long it takes for them to serve you, turns out that was right. We were sat at 6:30, they took our order by 6:37. It took them 31 minutes to send out the first plate and they missed at least 2 dishes in our order.Not to mention, the amount that came out was nowhere near what we ordered. We ordered 500g of chicken katsu, they sent out not even 200g. We also ordered lettuce wraps, they gave us shredded lettuce twice.Takoyaki was also served cooked in the outside but raw in the inside and the water tasted really terrible, almost like the glass wasn't properly washed.The staff was nice, but it seems like they're understaffed in the kitchen given how long the orders take. Aside from the bbq, which is the main reason why you'd go to a kbbq anyway, the rest of the menu/recipe needs an overhaul.Definitely can't recommend.

Wow !I ordered combo for 6 people and Fried Chicken food was fantastic and Service amazing. excellent quality meat specially bulgogi and LA ribs some other restaurant has dry meat but this one so soft and tastyAlso other dishes are great too ?My kids and parents are loved it : FANTASTIC Service We will definitely be back

This was not an authentic Korean restaurant! First of all, there were no Korean workers present and the waiters weren't familiar with the Korean cuisine! They didn't serve banchan (side dishes) and the food was horrible! The food was watery and the Korean Fried Chicken wasn't even the real dish! The black bean noodles and the spicy sea food noodles didn't have the proper kind of noodles in it either! NEVER coming back again! I don't know if the owner of the restaurant changed because in the Google pictures, the restaurant food looked nothing like the food we received! ATTENTION PEOPLE WHO GO TO THAT RESTAURANT NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!! I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone EVER! My Korean family was VERY disappointed with the quality, service and food of the restaurant! HORRIBLE!!! ???

This was a horrible experience for me and my family. We wanted to try another Korean restaurant and we went to Insadong, looking at the reviews and pictures on Google, just to be disappointed by the quality of the food we received. My family is Korean so we knew this wasn't a proper Korean restaurant. The waiters didn't know about Korean food. On top of that the seafood noodle soup was very watery including the black bean noodles that we ordered. The fried chicken was salty and didn't taste like chicken at all! One of the worst Korean restaurants to EVER exist! What a waste of money. Never coming back again and people who go there are being fooled by the outrageous restaurant!
