Gate of India - Calgary

Cheapest hotels near Calgary Airport. A simple restaurant with delicious Indian food and fast service. I ate there with my teenage son. I really wish the whole family was there so we could taste more dishes.

Everything from the menu variant to customer service is fantastic. The flavors make you want to eat here all the time. Portion size of appetizers and entrées are quite large. If you order the intake, you will also receive a lot of sauce. We love the...okra, dal and fish pakora. Don't forget to try the Mango-Chutney! For Indian cuisine in Calgary's NW, this is a place to beat.

That was our first time we had eaten in this place, we had a few years ago exit. Again, the food was mediocre. The Papadums were terrible, the Naan okay. Worst masala chai I ever had. The Veg hakka noodles had very little veg. The...tandoori mixing plate was okay. The appetizer was disappointing. Use a better quality of chicken as this meat was all pumped and rubbery. The younger man with the beard has no idea of customer service. He was rude and didn't know the answer to any question. He was rude and dismissed for the older man who works there, and terrible for the women who work there. Like he was perhaps the pampered son of the owner and acting like an idiot for all others, even though they were smarter than he. But the most shocking thing was how dirty the bathroom areas were. From the dirty door that leads from the restaurant to the laundry room, the door of the women's room was dirty inside and outside. Also the floor around the floor of the walls was black as it used dirty water to mop. And the floor of the restaurant was smooth and slippery with fat, and felt dangerous to go.

With the family for lunch after reading reviews and the restaurant did not disappoint us. Dal makhni and Masala chicken were delicious. Garlic nan had very little garlic and Koftas were not as soft as expected. Service was ok to be understaffed.

We have ordered food several times for take out and no complaints about the food. It’s delicious ! The only complaint I have is that every time we order and they give us a time to pick it up we end up waiting at least...30 minutes at the restaurant for our order to be fulfilled. That’s what keeps me from giving them full marks.
