Color Cafe - Calgary

During our recent visit to this restaurant, we were surprised to find that a 30% gratuity had been automatically added to our bill, totaling $30 on our $200 purchase. We were not informed of this policy beforehand, and only found out when we received the bill at the cash register. After calling to inquire, we were informed that this was their standard practice for all purchases, despite there being no signage indicating this policy. The small handmade sign near the cashier was unclear and haphazardly put together, leading to confusion. We checked with other locations of the restaurant in Calgary and found that none of them had a similar automatic gratuity policy. Due to this experience, we have decided to frequent other Color Me Mine locations in the future and suggest that others do the same.
