I think this place has been open for at least a few months now, wife and I decided after some shopping to get a cold pint and we thought why not try this place, especially since it's only a ten minute walk from home. The server greeted us right away when we walked in, although if it had of been busier it might have been a different story, cause there were only 3 other customers in the bar. She was very polite and friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be taking care of us. We had a couple of pints, which were very cold, and we both got the beef dip, wife had ceasar side salad and I had the fries, I think the ceasars dressing was made in house too, very good and so were the sandwiches. Afterwords we were both happy and full, however our server talked us into the fried Mars bar, I'm not one for anything sweet but, the way she explained it we couldn't resist. Let me tell you, it was all it was made out to be, again not my cup of tea due to the sweetness but still I enjoyed it. So, food, good. Service, good. Not much else you could ask for, they also seemed to have renovated quite a bit, it's a lot nicer inside than some of the previous establishments that have been on the site. I wouldn't say it's old world though, and I've been to old world pubs across Scotland and Ireland, it's brighter, very clean, nice seating and good service, instead of dark, cold cobble stone floor, dodgy service, warm beer and seating for more than 10 people. Yes I will be back.
My wife and I went to Bobby's as an outing for ourselves. Were pleasantly surprised by the warm and inviting atmosphere . The service was friendly and prompt with just the right amount of attitude
I never realized until I got home again that I didn't get any coleslaw with my fish and chips . The fish was overcooked and though everyone else at the table seemed to have a nice portion mine was small, and the 'homemade' tartar sauce was heavy and goopy. Better to go to Joey's for fish and chips any day.
Turned down the TV’s for the weekly trivia during the 3rd period of game 7 involving the only Canadian team left in the playoffs!!! Didn’t have the the sense waiting until after the game. Owners need to rethink their business plan. Don’t bother if you’re looking to watch sports, drink a cold beer and enjoy some food.
