Open Sesame - Calgary

As always, the experience was fantastic. I'm sad to see that the teriyaki riblings are no longer on the menu. The service was excellent, and we had a wonderful time.

The service was satisfactory. I ordered the hibachi steak, a dish I typically enjoy because it has always been fantastic in the past. Unfortunately, tonight's experience was quite disappointing. The meal, which used to be served on a hibachi pan, was not presented that way this time. Additionally, the food was lukewarm, which I find unacceptable! As a diabetic who cannot eat rice, I requested a substitute vegetable—and was charged extra for it! It's amusing how they don't lower the price when you remove an item from your plate. The meat was tough, gristly, and just mediocre overall. On a positive note, the edamame was delicious and served hot. For $40, I could have opted for a higher-end steakhouse and left feeling very satisfied. I don't plan to return, as there are plenty of other restaurants in the city that offer more reliable experiences and better value for my money.
