Bidrage med feedbackThis restaurant is one of the few places in the Malibu area where you can find delicious game meat. The atmosphere of the lodge will make you feel like you're at Yellowstone Ranch in Montana. The service is fantastic and overall it's a truly unique dining experience.
I recently visited this restaurant for a drink and was immediately impressed by the nostalgic lodge atmosphere. The charming decor and top-notch service made for a wonderful experience. The drinks were superb and the bartender was fabulous. I would give the service and atmosphere a 5-star rating.
This restaurant is reliable, with delicious food that is to be expected from a higher-priced establishment. The ambiance is stunning and well-maintained, making it perfect for special occasions. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to accommodate us. Even when a side dish was unavailable, the chef personally came out to suggest alternative options. Valet parking is the only option, as is common in Los Angeles, despite the fact that it may only involve moving the car a short distance in a large parking lot. Additionally, there is an automatic 20% service charge.
It was a horrible dining experience tonight. We did the dine LA menu tonight. Pork belly appetizer 0/5. Super salty and tough. Beet and Caesar salad were ok 2/5. The salmon was boring and fishy 1/5. The game trio was ok. Rabbit 2/5, bison short ribs were tough and dry 0/5. The elk was the only redeeming part of the meal 4/5. The molasses cookies were horrible 0/5.
The starters were a disappointment. We ordered a pork belly and a salmon tartare. One of the 3 pieces of pork belly was literally just a piece of fat with no meat at all. Very fatty and greasy, which you would expect of a pork belly, but everything has limits. And then the sauce and that toast the dish all together had a fast food taste profile. Do not recommend. The salmon tartare tasted just like lemon and pretty much no other flavor to it. Very plain, not interesting. Absolutely not worth the calorie budget and the money budget too. Game meats, on the other hand, were a pure delight! We ordered a trio plus the quail and a duck breast everything was just great Elk was tender and delicious, rabbit was flavorful, bison was very bright, and quail... well, that's just a quail, can't expect much from it, but it was good. And I liked the duck breast cooked to perfection with the sweet notes from dark cherries. All meats came with great matching sides just really good! So if you like me don't like to put mediocre food inside of your body, my good advice to you is skip the starters and go straight to main courses. That's what's worth it! I will be back for that game trio for sure!
