Service second to none, beautiful hillside terraced restaurant. Provided free pink champagne when hearing of the reason for our visit (46th wedding anniversary)
We were placed on a table next to a large table whilst the terrace was left empty -despite it being warm enough to eat outside . The menu we were told changes once a week and the three dishes on it could only be cooked...as described and were different to the menu displayed outside .No vegetarian option and looked overpriced €39 for sea Bass .I was sneered at by the waitress when I declined to order wine before seeing the food menu and virtually laughed at when I ordered a coke . We left the restaurant without eating and the whole experience grated. Interestingly the Hotel didn’t query why we had walked out .
We booked a table for 8 to sit on the terrace and enjoy a dinner with family and friends. We received a wonderful reception on arrival , and while it was a little strange we had to pre-order our choices fro the carte ...it ensured...we received what we wanted and all brilliantly presented for such a large group. The hotel and restaurant are small tucked away in Haut Cagnes in the narrow streets so arrive early as you will need to park a short walk away as the streets are so narrow parking is not possible. Beautiful tranquil location expertly managed by the whole team at the hotel. Everyone was delighted with their choices , the way the service gently flowed with appetisers and through the courses . We chose a lovely Rose which was dry elegant and so typical of the south of France. The service was impeccable, the setting quiet with lovely views over the old village. Well done everyone at the hotel highly recommended both as a group and as a delightful place to go as a couple.
Glad we pre booked our table before arrival, we had a great table overlooking the city and the ocean. Sam the maître di did make our dinner very special.
